Driver Killed, Two Injured in Srinagar School Van Accident | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: A driver lost his life while two others were injured in a road accident involving a school van near Ghanta Ghar at Lal Chowk in Srinagar on Thursday.

Fortunately, the students travelling in the vehicle escaped unhurt.

Officials said the driver, identified as Javeed Ahmad (47), a resident of Umair Abad, Bemina, sustained critical injuries and was immediately shifted to SMHS Hospital.

According to officials, Javeed Ahmad was driving the school van when he lost control of the vehicle near SBI Bank at Lal Chowk, resulting in multiple grievous injuries. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Two other persons also sustained minor injuries in the incident and are undergoing treatment. Their condition is reported to be stable.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further investigation. (KNC)
