Congress Reviews Panchayat Poll Strategy in Kupwara

Srinagar: A meeting of the District Congress Committee Kupwara was held at Dak Banglow Kupwara on Thursday under the chairmanship of District President Haji Farooq Mir to deliberate on preparations and strategy for the upcoming Panchayat elections.

Addressing the meeting, Mir said the party has undertaken several programmes in recent months, including Hamari Riyasat Hamara Haq and the MGNREGA Bachav Programme. He also referred to concerns over alleged violations of farmers’ rights in the wake of the India–US trade deal, stating that the party would intensify its outreach across constituencies in the coming days to strengthen its base at the grassroots level.

He highlighted the role of J&K Congress President Tariq Hameed Qarra, stating that his leadership has contributed significantly to organisational strengthening across the region.

Participants in the meeting stressed the need for unity, coordinated outreach, and organisational preparedness to ensure effective participation in the forthcoming Panchayat and Urban Local Body elections.
