Light rain, snow chill Rajouri–Poonch; Mughal Road open

Rajouri, Mar 26: Several areas of Rajouri and Poonch districts witnessed fresh light rainfall in the plains and light snowfall in the upper reaches on Wednesday, leading to a noticeable dip in temperatures across the region.

The shift in weather conditions affected daily life, with residents experiencing colder conditions and minor disruptions in routine activities. Higher altitude areas reported a thin layer of snowfall, while low-lying regions received intermittent rain showers.

Amid the prevailing weather, the Mughal Road continued to remain operational, providing a crucial link between the twin districts. Officials said traffic plied smoothly from both ends, with vehicular movement allowed within the notified time frame of 10 am to 3 pm.

However, authorities cautioned that the road surface has turned slippery due to rainfall and snowfall, advising commuters to exercise caution while travelling and adhere to traffic guidelines to avoid any untoward incidents.
