Hasnain Masoodi felicitates ‘TB Mukt Panchayats’

Srinagar, Mar 24: A programme was organised at Town Hall Pulwama under the theme “Yes! We Can End TB” to mark World Tuberculosis (TB) Day. The event was attended by Justice Hasnain Masoodi, MLA Pampore.

During the event, experts and medical professionals from the Health Department sensitised participants about tuberculosis, its symptoms, prevention, and the importance of timely diagnosis and complete treatment. Emphasis was laid on community awareness and collective efforts to eliminate TB.

Addressing the gathering, Justice Masoodi appreciated the sustained efforts of the Health Department and the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP) in combating the disease. He highlighted the challenges posed by TB in earlier years and noted that the significant decline in mortality rates reflects the dedicated work of healthcare workers and stakeholders. He stressed the importance of early detection and urged frontline workers to remain vigilant and proactive to ensure timely identification and treatment of cases. On the occasion, Justice Masoodi flagged off the TB Mukt Abhiyaan – 100 Days Campaign, aimed at accelerating case detection, improving treatment adherence, and strengthening last-mile delivery of TB services.
