Kupwara: The District Administration Kupwara has constituted a District-Level Committee to oversee the distribution of the allocated commercial LPG quota in the district and ensure transparency in the supply system.
According to an order, a copy of which lies with Alfaaz – The Words, issued by Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Kupwara Shrikant Balasaheb Suse (IAS), the committee has been formed following directions from the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Civil Secretariat, Srinagar/Jammu.
The committee will comprise the Additional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara/Handwara, Additional Superintendent of Police Kupwara/Handwara, and Assistant Commissioner Revenue Kupwara as members, while the Assistant Director, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Kupwara will serve as the Member Secretary. In addition, District Nodal Officers of Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have also been included as members.
As per the order, the committee will ensure fair and transparent distribution of the commercial LPG quota allocated to the district. It will also prioritize supply to critical sectors and take necessary steps to curb hoarding, diversion and black marketing of LPG cylinders.
The order further directs the District Nodal Officers of OMCs to ensure the daily availability and stock position of commercial LPG in the district and present the status before the committee for further necessary action.
