Scheduled Power Shutdowns to Affect Multiple Areas Across Kashmir | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: The Chief Engineer, Distribution, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL), has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across several parts of Kashmir between March 22 and 28, 2026 due to maintenance works on transmission lines.

According to officials, power supply to Jawahar Nagar, Rajbagh, Mehjoor Nagar, Soiteng, KP Bagh and adjoining areas will remain affected from 08:00 to 14:00 hours on March 24 and 28 owing to the shutdown of the 33 kV GIS Tengpora–KP Bagh line.

In north Kashmir, electricity supply to areas including Panzipora, Tarzoo, Hygam, Arampora, Warpora, Tujjar, Nowpora, Mazbugh and adjoining localities will be disrupted from 08:00 to 11:00 hours on March 24, due to the shutdown of the 132 kV Delina–Amargarh Transmission Line Circuit-I.

Similarly, power supply to Amargarh, Baramulla, Watergam and nearby areas will be affected from 12:00 to 16:00 hours on the same day following the shutdown of Circuit-II of the same transmission line.

Meanwhile, in south Kashmir, electricity supply to Ashajipora, Rohu, Malaknag, Shirpora and adjoining areas will remain suspended from 08:00 to 14:00 hours on March 23 and 25 due to maintenance of the 33 kV Wanpoh–Ashajipora Malaknag double circuit line.

Additionally, power supply to Shangus, Nowgam, Cherpora and adjoining areas will be affected from 08:00 to 14:00 hours on March 22 and 24 due to the shutdown of the 33 kV Achabal–Cherpora tap line.

KPDCL has advised consumers to take necessary precautions during the shutdown periods.
