The closure of the key route, which links the Kashmir Valley with Poonch and Rajouri districts, was ordered as a precautionary measure to ensure commuter safety.

SSP Traffic Rural, Farooq Qaiser, said the road has been closed for all vehicular movement due to adverse weather conditions in the area.

He stated that no vehicles will be allowed to ply on the route until further notice and urged commuters to avoid travel on the road and follow official advisories.

Authorities have advised the public to defer travel plans until the road is declared safe, adding that the situation will be reviewed based on weather and road conditions before traffic is restored.
