Srinagar, Mar 14: The Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) on Thursday announced a Talent Hunt programme for women cricketers across all age groups for the 2026–27 season, with trials scheduled to be held centrally in Srinagar and Jammu later this month.

According to an official notification issued by the association, the trials for the Kashmir region will be held at the Sher-i-Kashmir Cricket Stadium from March 23 to March 25, while the Jammu region trials will take place at the Hostel Ground from March 31 to April 2.

The trials will be conducted in two categories, Junior and Senior. The Junior category is open to players born between September 1, 2007 and August 31, 2014, while the senior category includes players born on or before August 31, 2007.

As per the schedule, junior category trials in Srinagar will be held on March 23 and 24, while senior category trials will take place on March 25. In Jammu, junior trials will be conducted on March 31 and April 1, followed by senior trials on April 2.

Players shortlisted by the selectors will participate in trial matches in Srinagar from March 26 to March 28, while trial matches in Jammu are scheduled from April 3 to April 5.

The JKCA has asked all interested players to attend the trials with digitised date-of-birth certificate with QR code, PVC Aadhaar card or passport, mark sheets of the previous three years, and PAN card. Original documents along with photocopies must be produced for verification before participation.

Majid Dar will serve as the ground in-charge for the trials in Srinagar, while Vivek Khajuria will oversee arrangements at the Jammu venue.

The trials will begin at 9:30 AM, and players have been advised to report by 8:50 AM for document verification.

The selection committee for the talent hunt includes Sarabjeet Singh, Pratibha Bhasin, Payal Choudhary, Masrat Ahad, Anuradha Sharma, Nusrat Jan and Hinaan Maqbool.

The association also clarified that players who were part of JKCA women’s teams (first fifteen) during the 2025–26 season are exempted from the trials, except those who have moved to the next age group.

The trials will be conducted using SG Shield 30 White women’s cricket balls, the association said.
