
SRINAGAR: Jammu Kashmir Peoples Conference President and MLA Handwara, Sajad Lone, congratulated the Jammu and Kashmir cricket team on their historic first-ever Ranji Trophy triumph, describing it as a moment of collective pride for the Union Territory.
In a statement, Lone lauded the players, coaching staff, and team management for their resilience, skill, and commitment, calling the victory more than a sporting achievement. He singled out pacer Auqib Nabi for his consistent, match-winning bowling performances, which were instrumental in guiding JK to championship glory.
“This triumph is the culmination of years of perseverance, discipline, and belief. The team has showcased the extraordinary talent and resolve that define Jammu and Kashmir. It has been a long wait, and today, that wait has transformed into a moment of immense pride for us all,” Lone said.
He also acknowledged the support of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and expressed hope that the victory would inspire a new generation of cricketers in the region.
