Northern Army Commander visits Kishtwar, commends troops for Operation Trashi

Jammu, Feb 24: General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) Northern Command, Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma on Tuesday visited Kishtwar and commended the troops for their swift and precise action leading to successful conduct of Operation Trashi, which saw the elimination of three Pakistan sponsored Jaish terrorists, including their dreaded commander Saifullah on February 22, 2026.

Lt Gen Sharma, while felicitating the Army troops and the personnel from Police and other agencies, lauded their committed professionalism and also reiterated the resolve for terror-free and peaceful Jammu and Kashmir.

“Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, Army Commander Northern Command, visited Kishtwar, following the successful conduct of Op Trashi-I, which resulted in successful elimination of three Pakistan sponsored terrorists,” posted Northern Command on its ‘X’ handle.

“The Army Commander commended the troops for their swift and precise action. He also lauded their professionalism, commitment and steadfast resolve towards ensuring a terror-free and peaceful Jammu and Kashmir,” the post read.

Notably, on February 22, after the killing of three terrorists, the Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi too, while lauding the troops for steadfast resolve, operational excellence and seamless coordination in ongoing operations, had reiterated commitment to ensure lasting peace in J&K “with zero tolerance for terrorism in all its forms.”

Prior to the visit of the Northern Commander, White Knight (16) Corps, General Officer Commanding (GOC), Lieutenant General P K Mishra along with GOC CIF (D) Major General APS Bal on Monday, February 23, 2026, visited various locations of Kishtwar to review ongoing counter terrorism operations in the hinterland.

“The GOC commended the troops for their swift, precise and intelligence-led action resulting in the elimination of three Pakistan sponsored terrorists, including a top JeM commander. Operating relentlessly in the hinterland, the troops of White Knight Corps, remain resolute – precise in action, relentless in pursuit and unwavering in its commitment to safeguard the nation,” the White Knight Corps posted on its ‘X’ handle with a collage of pictures.
