Rajouri, Feb 20: The Indian Army on Friday recovered arms, ammunition and other incriminating material during a search operation along the Line of Control in the Sunderbani sector, a day after troops foiled an infiltration attempt by suspected militants.
The infiltration bid was foiled by the Indian Army at Nathua Tibba on the LoC in the Sunderbani sector on Thursday when a group of three to four heavily armed terrorists were trying to infiltrate but were pushed back.
On Friday, Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) continued at the site for day two by army troops wherein arms, ammunition and other incriminating material has been recovered.
In an official statement, the Indian Army said that after foiling the infiltration bid, troops of the Crossed Swords Division under the White Knight Corps conducted a comprehensive search of the area.
“Heavily bloodstained tracks were observed, indicating serious injuries to terrorist(s),” said the Indian Army.
“During the search, warlike stores were recovered, including one AK rifle, two magazines along with magazines, three rucksacks, ration, blankets and clothing,” the army mentioned.
The army further stated that operations remain ongoing with heightened vigilance and firm domination of the area.
