Jammu,19, Feb. 2026: Today General Manager of Jammu & Kashmir Bank, Sh. Ashok Gupta held an interactive meeting with a delegation of the Chamber of Tourism Trade and Industry Katra (CTTIK) at Katra. The meeting was attended by zonal manager Sh. Lalit Parkash, cluster manager Sh. Amit Balgotra, and branch manager Sh. Samresh Salgotra. The interaction focused on strengthening banking support for the tourism, trade and industry sectors of J&K and enhancing credit outreach to micro and small enterprises.
While elaborating on the lending facilities offered by J&K Bank, general manager Ashok Gupta stated that the bank continues to lead in extending credit under various government-sponsored schemes such as mudra loans and yuva loans. He emphasized that in order to give a strong fillip to the economy of jammu & kashmir, the bank is proactively facilitating entrepreneurs, startups, and regular business clients by offering customized credit solutions tailored to their specific requirements. He further highlighted the importance of utilizing the various user-friendly features of J&K bank’s credit cards and digital banking services which are designed to provide convenience, flexibility and improved financial management for business owners.
Raj Kumar Padha, president of CTTIK accompanied by secretary Atul Sharma and other members of the delegation expressed sincere appreciation for the timely introduction of the rehabilitation package 2025 by J&K bank to support borrowers affected by last year’s disturbances. He stated that the package has provided much-needed relief to the business community during a challenging period. However he submitted that the revival of tourism has been slower than expected and requested that the FITL (Funded Interest Term Loan) facility be extended for another six months to provide additional breathing space to tourism-related units.
The CTTIK president also requested that an additional 15% credit facility on existing term loans be considered on the lines of the relief already provided to working capital and SOD accounts under the rehabilitation package. He emphasized that such support would significantly strengthen the financial stability of tourism-based MSMEs and help them recover fully from recent setbacks.
During the interaction CTTIK put forth a series of constructive suggestions to J&K bank including the need for a flexible repayment structure for tourism-based units given the seasonal nature of the industry. The delegation also urged the bank to consider soft loans at concessional rates of interest to meet the cash flow requirements of prospective customers and to provide need-based credit facilities tailored to the operational realities of local entrepreneurs.
General Manager Ashok Gupta gave a patient hearing to the issues raised by the delegation and assured the members of CTTIK of the bank’s continued cooperation and full support in addressing their credit and financial needs. He reiterated that J&K Bank remains committed to the growth of the tourism and MSME sector in J&K and will continue to work closely with stakeholders to strengthen the local economy.
The meeting concluded on a positive and forward-looking note reaffirming the collaborative approach between J&K Bank and the business community of Jammu for sustainable economic growth and development.
