Indian Army Evacuates Pregnant Woman Amid Heavy Snowfall in Tangdhar Kupwara

Tangdhar: The Indian Army on Tuesday evacuated a 26-year-old pregnant woman from the border village of Jabri in north Kashmir’s Tangdhar sector amid heavy snowfall, officials said.

Army personnel, assisted by local residents, carried the woman over a snowbound stretch of around seven kilometres to the nearest Army post, braving harsh weather and difficult terrain.

Officials said the woman was provided immediate medical assistance at the Army post and was subsequently shifted to the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Tangdhar for further treatment.

The timely evacuation ensured the safety of both the mother and the unborn child, they added. (via. Murtaza Mushtaq)
