KPDCL Announces Power Shutdown Across Kashmir | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: Power supply to several areas across Srinagar, Pulwama, Kupwara and parts of south Kashmir will be affected on February 16 and 17 due to scheduled shutdowns of key transmission lines and grid infrastructure, the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) said on Saturday.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the shutdown of the 33 KV Pampore–B.K. Pora line will affect electricity supply to B.K. Pora, Khanda, Checkpora, Chatergam, Kenihama, Summerbugh, Wagoora, Aribagh and adjoining areas from 10 am to 3 pm on February 16.

Similarly, power supply to MES Kupwara will remain affected from 9 am to 3 pm on February 17 due to the shutdown of the 33 KV Arampora–MES line.

In Srinagar and adjoining areas, a shutdown of the 220 KV Wagoora–Pampore Circuit I Bay at Grid Sub Station Pampore will disrupt power supply to a wide range of localities from 1 pm to 2 pm on February 17. The affected areas include Rawalpora, Sanat Nagar, Chanapora, Hyderpora, Humhama, Baghat, Barzullah, Rambagh, Natipora, Bagh-i-Mehtab, Rangreth, Wanbal, Pampore, Athwajan, Panthachowk, Sonwar, Nowgam Railway Station, Nishat, Buchwara, TRC and adjoining areas.

Industrial units and installations such as Cement Plants, Industrial Estate Khrew, Food Park, SAIFCO, Ind. Estate Khunmoh, Covid Hospital and Government Press will also experience power disruptions during the scheduled shutdown period.

Meanwhile, power supply to Dak Bunglow, Seepan, Batapora and adjoining areas will remain affected from 10 am to 3 pm on February 16 due to the shutdown of the 33 KV Harnag–Khanabal tapline via Dak Bunglow.

KPDCL said the shutdowns are being carried out as part of maintenance and grid-related works, and advised consumers in affected areas to make necessary arrangements during the outage period.
