Srinagar, Feb 12: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Kangan, Mian Mehar Ali, on Thursday raised concerns over mining and connectivity issues in his constituency, seeking improved infrastructure and support for development projects.

Speaking in the Legislative Assembly during discussions on grants for the Public Works (R&B) and Industries departments, the MLA expressed gratitude to Deputy Chief Minister and R&B Minister Surinder Choudhary for sanctioning and approving several works for the Kangan constituency.

Mian Mehar demanded the construction of four bridges at DardWudder, Hayan, Waniarm Baba Bagri and Satrina to improve connectivity in these areas. He also welcomed the revival of the Central Road Fund (CRF) scheme after a gap of five years and expressed hope that project proposals submitted by him would receive approval.

Highlighting concerns related to mining, the MLA urged the government to address issues faced by locals, particularly tractor owners whose vehicles are seized or fined during transportation activities. He called on the Deputy Chief Minister to resolve the matter to safeguard the livelihood of those associated with the sector.
