SRINAGAR: Meteorological officials have said that a weak Western Disturbance is expected to impact Jammu and Kashmir on February 10, likely bringing light rain or snowfall at several places, with moderate precipitation possible at isolated locations.
Another weak Western Disturbance is forecast around February 17, while a short spell of rain or snowfall may also occur in some higher-altitude areas on February 14. Officials noted that any changes in the intensity or path of these weather systems will be communicated as updates become available.
Apart from these systems, significant rainfall or snowfall activity is not expected during the remainder of February, which could result in a noticeable rainfall deficit for the month.
Meteorologists also warned that continued dry weather conditions may lead to early blooming of trees across the region.
