64 Faculty Posts Vacant at AIIMS Jammu: Centre | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: The Centre has informed the Lok Sabha that 64 faculty posts are currently vacant at AIIMS Jammu.

In a written response to an unstarred question, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said the institute has 183 sanctioned faculty positions, with 119 filled and the rest lying vacant.

The Ministry said recruitment is a continuous process and measures are being taken to speed up appointments at AIIMS Jammu and other AIIMS institutions. These steps include setting up standing selection committees, hiring retired faculty on a contractual basis and implementing a visiting faculty scheme.

It added that common recruitment examinations and national-level entrance tests are regularly conducted to fill faculty and non-faculty posts across AIIMS institutions nationwide.
