
Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary among others have extended greetings to the people on the auspicious occasion of Shab-e-Barat – being observed tonight.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha conveyed his greetings, wishing peace, prosperity and well-being for all. He expressed hope that the sacred night would inspire people to uphold values of truth, humility and compassion, and work towards harmony.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said Shab-e-Barat is a revered night of prayers, repentance and seeking the mercy and blessings of Almighty Allah. He described the occasion as a time for self-reflection and devotion, and urged people to pray for peace, harmony and welfare of all humanity. He also prayed for peace, prosperity and overall progress of Jammu and Kashmir.
Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary said the occasion holds deep religious and spiritual significance and is marked by prayers, forgiveness and reflection. He urged people to pray for peace, prosperity and collective welfare, and said Jammu and Kashmir has a long tradition of mutual understanding and coexistence.
Minister Sakeena Itoo said Shab-e-Barat is a sacred night dedicated to seeking forgiveness, mercy and blessings from Almighty Allah. She said the occasion encourages introspection and moral renewal, and prayed for peace, progress and prosperity across Jammu and Kashmir.
JKPC leader Molvi Imran Ansari extended his greetings and described the night as one of repentance and renewal of faith. He prayed for forgiveness and mercy, and urged believers to remember the suffering and oppressed in their prayers.
Mirwaiz Kashmir Umar Farooq also greeted the people, saying Shab-e-Barat is a night of deep introspection and seeking forgiveness. He urged the faithful to devote the night to prayers for peace, guidance and well-being for all.
