Rajouri, Feb 3: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday reaffirmed its demand for the establishment of a National Law University (NLU) in Jammu, with party’s organisational General Secretary Ashok Koul asserting that the BJP remains firm on the issue while addressing a workers’ convention in Rajouri.
In his media interaction during visit of Rajouri, Ashok Koul said that National Law University (NLU) issue is clear in front of all and BJP is firm on its stand that it should be established in Jammu.
” We have no issue even if it’s established in Pir Panjal region.” he added.
Koul further stated that Bhartiya Janta Party is conducting workers convention (Karyakarta Samelaan) across the Jammu and Kashmir and in all assembly constituency areas with aim to make people aware above policies and programmes of Union Government and also to highlight failure of J&K Government in fulfilling its promises.
The BJP’s organisational secretary Ashok Koul during his visit in Rajouri chaired a workers’ convention in Rajouri to deliberate on the party’s organisational structure and strengthen its grassroots network in the district.
The convention was chaired by Koul, and was attended by J&K BJP vice president Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali, General Secretary Adv Vibodh Gupta along with other senior party leaders.
Party workers and leaders from across Rajouri district participated in the convention.
Addressing the gathering, BJP leaders highlighted the programmes and policies of the Central Government, stating that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government is working round the clock to address public issues and ensure inclusive development.
They said that the entire country is moving steadily on the path of holistic growth under the present dispensation.
The BJP leaders also targeted the National Conference (NC)-led government in Jammu and Kashmir, alleging that the promises made by NC and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to the people have failed to materialise.
They claimed that people of the Union Territory feel betrayed by the NC’s governance.
Accusing Chief Minister Omar Abdullah of indulging in divisive politics, the BJP leaders asserted that the people of Jammu and Kashmir would give a fitting reply and hold the National Conference accountable for what they termed as anti-people policies.
