Srinagar, Jan 27: Flight operations at Srinagar Airport were suspended on Tuesday after continuous snowfall and adverse weather conditions rendered the runway unsafe for aircraft movement, officials said.
Airport authorities confirmed that the persistent snow accumulation has affected runway conditions, making it unavailable for safe take-offs and landings. As a precautionary measure and in the interest of passenger safety, all incoming and outgoing flights to and from Srinagar have been cancelled for the day.
“Continuous snowfall has made it unsafe for flight operations, leading to the cancellation of all scheduled arrivals and departures,” said an official.
Officials from both the airline companies and the airport administration said they are closely monitoring the evolving weather situation.
Flight services will resume once conditions improve and the runway is declared operational.
Passengers have been advised to check the latest flight status directly with their respective airlines and follow updates issued through official communication channels.
