Chief General Manager, Ashok Gupta, Divisional Head, Jammu along with other senior officers of the Bank.

The initiative witnessed active participation from J&K Bank employees as well as members of the general public. The camp offered free cardiac screening and blood investigations, along with the distribution of select essential medicines at no cost. In addition, health education and workplace wellness sessions were conducted to promote preventive healthcare and healthy lifestyle practices.

Dr Zubair Saleem, Senior Geriatric Consultant, while addressing the participants, emphasised that a sedentary lifestyle and prolonged sitting, especially due to continuous computer work, significantly aggravate lifestyle-related diseases. He observed that people are often so absorbed in professional responsibilities and family obligations—towards parents and children—that they neglect their own health, eventually landing in serious medical conditions.

He strongly advocated sparing just 30 minutes daily for self-care through physical activity or exercise, stating that when one remains healthy, one is better equipped to care for work and family alike. Dr Saleem further advised avoiding smoking and alcohol, reducing intake of salt, sugar, and oil, and adopting a balanced diet rich in vegetables, fruits, and plant-based proteins. He also highlighted the importance of adequate sleep, sufficient water intake, and stress management through faith-based and mindfulness activities. The participants expressed high satisfaction with the quality of services provided and appreciated the initiative for bringing accessible preventive healthcare to the workplace and the community.
