Republic Day Celebrations Marked by Grand Parade in Ganderbal – Alfaaz – The Words

Ganderbal: The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour across Ganderbal district on Monday. The main function was held at Madr-e-Meharban Qamariya Stadium, where District Development Council Chairperson Nuzhat Ishfaq unfurled the National Flag.

Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Jatin Kashore, IAS, and Senior Superintendent of Police Ganderbal Khalil Ahmad Poswal, JKPS, were present on the occasion along with senior officers from the civil administration and security forces.

The Chief Guest inspected the parade and took the salute. The parade was commanded by Deputy Superintendent of Police Rakesh Singh. Participating contingents presented a disciplined and coordinated march past, reflecting professionalism and unity.

The parade included contingents of District Police Ganderbal, Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police 14th Battalion, Police Training School Manigam, CRPF 49th, 115th and 118th Battalions, SSB 4th and 63rd Battalions, DPL Women Contingent, Forest Protection Force, Home Guards, Police Band DPL Ganderbal, J&K Sainik School Manasbal Band, Special Police Officers, and school students from different institutions.

Cultural programmes were also presented by students and youth groups from across the district. The performances showcased the cultural diversity and traditions of the region and drew appreciation from the audience.

A prize distribution and felicitation ceremony was held at the end of the programme. Students and participants were awarded certificates and prizes for their performances and contribution to the celebrations.

Republic Day functions were also organised at sub divisional, tehsil, block, and institutional levels across the district, marking wide participation and a strong sense of national pride.
