Kupwara Celebrates Republic Day with Patriotic Fervour; DDC C’person Presides Over Main Function at DPL – Alfaaz – The Words

Kupwara: The 77th Republic Day was celebrated across Kupwara district with enthusiasm and patriotic fervour on Monday here. The National Flag was unfurled at government offices and public institutions, while the main function was held at the District Police Lines Kupwara.

District Development Council Chairperson Irfan Panditpuri unfurled the National Tricolour in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Shrikant Balasaheb Suse and Senior Superintendent of Police Kupwara Al Tahir Gilani, JKPS. Senior officers from the civil administration and security forces were also present.

The main function featured a ceremonial parade in which contingents from the security forces and students from various schools participated. The march past was marked by discipline and coordination. The parade was commanded by Vikas Gupta, IPS Probationer.

Addressing the gathering, the DDC Chairperson highlighted the significance of Republic Day and paid tributes to the framers of the Constitution and freedom fighters. He also outlined major developmental achievements of the district and appreciated the coordinated efforts of government departments and other stakeholders in advancing governance and public service delivery.

School students presented cultural programmes featuring patriotic songs and performances. Prizes were distributed among winners of competitions organised as part of the Republic Day celebrations.

Republic Day functions were also organised at tehsil, block, and institutional levels across the district, reflecting wide public participation and a strong sense of national pride.
