Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST), Kashmir has issued Detailed Advertisement Notice No. 01 of 2026 dated 01 January 2026 inviting online applications from eligible candidates for the posts of Associate Professor and Assistant Professor in various Departments and Centres of the University.

Appointments shall be governed by UGC Regulations 2018 (as amended), Statutory Executive Council norms, and University Statutes, Ordinances, and Rules.

Posts are advertised under various reservation categories as per Government of UT of Jammu & Kashmir rules, with horizontal reservation of 4 percent for Persons with Disabilities.

Eligibility and Qualifications

• Essential qualifications, experience, and eligibility conditions shall be strictly as per UGC Regulations 2018 and subsequent amendments.
• NET/SLET/SET qualification is mandatory, except for candidates holding Ph.D. degrees as per UGC norms.
• Candidates with foreign degrees must submit equivalence certificates issued by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.
• Discipline-wise essential and desirable qualifications are detailed in the official notification and Annexure-A.

Selection Procedure

• Shortlisting for Assistant Professor posts will be done as per UGC Regulations 2018 (Appendix II, Table 3A).
• Twenty candidates shall be shortlisted for one post and five additional candidates for every extra post.
• Selection may include presentation, lecture, interview, or assessment of domain knowledge.
• Final selection will strictly follow UGC Regulations and University rules.

2. Fill the application form carefully and upload required details.
3. Pay the application fee online.
4. Submit hard copy of the application form along with self-attested copies of all required documents to the Office of the Registrar, IUST, by the prescribed date.

Applications submitted through any other mode will not be accepted.

• Candidates already in service must apply through proper channel.
• Submission of hard copy is mandatory.
• Original documents must be produced at the time of interview.
• No TA/DA shall be paid for interview.
• Selected candidates shall be governed by the New Pension Scheme (NPS).
