
SRINAGAR: Police in Pulwama on Tuesday seized a vehicle allegedly involved in the illegal transportation of minerals and registered a case under relevant sections of law, officials said.
According to police, a dumper bearing registration number JK13K 1694 was intercepted during routine checking and found carrying minerals without valid authorisation. The vehicle was subsequently seized.
Police said a case vide FIR number 10 of 2026 has been registered at Police Station Litter, and further investigation has been initiated to ascertain the source and destination of the illegally transported material.
The action forms part of an ongoing crackdown by Jammu and Kashmir Police against illegal mining and unauthorised transportation of minerals in the district.
Police urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by reporting instances of illegal mining and transportation, reiterating that strict action will continue against violators.
