Srinagar: A car was reported missing from Mawer area of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district late Sunday night, prompting police to launch a search to trace the vehicle, officials said on Monday.
Official sources told Alfaaz – The Words, that the vehicle, bearing registration number JK09C 2175, disappeared from Yahama Lawoosa Mawer during the intervening night of Sunday and Monday. The car is registered in the name of Abdul Gani Sheikh, son of Ghulam Nabi Sheikh, a local resident and government school teacher.
A police team has been dispatched to the spot to ascertain the circumstances. Searches are underway in and around the area to trace the missing vehicle.
