SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, on Monday laid the foundation stone for the Meerz Health Care Hospital in Srinagar, a 180-bedded super speciality facility aimed at strengthening medical infrastructure and enhancing healthcare services for the city and surrounding districts.

Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor congratulated the Meerz Group and extended his best wishes to all associated with the hospital. He emphasised that private investment in healthcare infrastructure is pivotal for sustainable national development and serves as a lifeline for society.

“Healthcare is the bedrock for building a stable, vibrant, and prosperous society. Industry leaders in the healthcare sector must focus on world-class infrastructure to create a resilient society,” Shri Sinha said.

The foundation-laying ceremony was attended by Farooq Mir, Managing Director of Meerz Group; Darakhshan Andrabi, Chairperson, JK Waqf Board; Anshul Garg, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir; GV Sundeep Chakravarthy, SSP Srinagar; Akshay Labroo, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar; senior officials, medical professionals, and prominent citizens from various walks of life.

The hospital is expected to provide advanced medical care, create employment opportunities, and further improve the region’s healthcare ecosystem.
