Kupwara Police Recover 2.3 kg Heroin During Naka Operation – Alfaaz – The Words

Kupwara: Kupwara Police on Friday recovered 2.3 kilograms of heroin like contraband during a naka and checking operation near Magray Mohalla in Gulgam.

Officials said a vehicle bearing registration number JK09C 1178 was intercepted during the operation. On seeing the police party, the driver and two other occupants fled from the spot, leaving behind a woman passenger.

The woman was apprehended on suspicion. During a search, police recovered 2.3 kilograms of heroin like substance from her possession.

In this regard, FIR No. 13 of 2026 under Sections 8, 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kupwara.

Police said further investigation is underway to trace the absconding accused and to dismantle the narcotics supply chain linked to the case.
