Ganderbal Hosts Joint Security Review Meet for Tourist Spots in Central Kashmir Range – Alfaaz – The Words

Ganderbal: A joint security review meeting of tourist destinations falling under the Central Kashmir Range (CKR) was held on Tuesday at the Conference Hall of the District Police Office, Ganderbal, to assess and reinforce security measures in view of the evolving ground situation.

The meeting was co-chaired by DIG CKR Rajiv Omprakash Pande (IPS) and Army Commander 3 Sector Hemant Singh Panwar, and was attended by senior officers from various security and intelligence agencies. Among those present were DIG CRPF Sudhir Kumar, SSP Srinagar Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy (IPS), SSP Ganderbal Khalil Ahmad Poswal (JKPS), and SP Cargo Srinagar Tanveer Ahmad, besides representatives from the Army, CAPFs, and intelligence units.

The discussion focused on the prevailing security scenario at tourist sites, with particular emphasis on ensuring visitor safety amid ongoing winter weather conditions. Confidence-building measures, enhanced deployment patterns, and protection protocols for key tourist circuits were reviewed in detail.

Officials also examined preparedness for Republic Day 2026, directing for further strengthening of the security grid, improved inter-agency coordination, and proactive deployment to ensure a seamless security environment during the national event.

The chairing officers underscored the need for heightened alertness, robust intelligence sharing, and coordinated response mechanisms to address any emerging security challenges and maintain public order.

Security agencies appealed to the public to cooperate with law enforcement and report any suspicious activity or movement of anti-national elements in the interest of collective safety and peace.
