SRINAGAR: All three persons who were stranded in the Peer Ki Gali area of Poonch district due to adverse weather conditions were safely rescued on Sunday.
Officials said that upon receiving information about the persons being stuck in the high altitude area, a rescue operation was launched under the supervision of the Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Surankote, with the Station House Officer (SHO) of Surankote Police Station leading the operation on the ground.
Despite poor visibility and difficult terrain, the police team reached the location and successfully carried out the rescue operation, they said.
“All three persons were safely evacuated and are stable,” police said, adding that the rescue team was returning and had reached Raata Cham.
Police advised people to avoid unnecessary travel to high altitude and snow bound areas and to strictly follow advisories issued by the district administration from time to time. (KNC)
