Kupwara: The Deputy Commissioner Kupwara on Sunday delivered the first Pulse Polio drops to children at Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Kupwara, formally launching the Pulse Polio Immunisation drive in the district. He was accompanied by the Additional Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Kupwara Mumtaz Ahmad, Chief Medical Officer Kupwara Dr. Masrat Iqbal Wani, and other senior officials.
After launching the campaign, the Deputy Commissioner, as per Alfaaz – The Words, visited various Pulse Polio booths across the district to review the arrangements made for the smooth and effective conduct of the drive. He interacted with health officials, field staff, parents and guardians, and stressed the importance of achieving 100 per cent coverage to ensure a polio-free future.
Appealing to parents, the Deputy Commissioner urged them to cooperate with health workers and ensure that every eligible child receives the polio vaccine. He further directed the Health Department and other concerned departments to work in close coordination so that no child is left out of the Pulse Polio Immunisation programme.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner also took stock of different sections of SDH Kupwara and interacted with patients and their attendants to assess the quality of services being provided. He emphasised upon the hospital administration to ensure the best possible healthcare facilities for patients and to maintain high standards of service delivery, setting a strong precedent for other health facilities in the district.
