KPDCL Schedules Power Shutdown in Multiple Areas | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) on Saturday announced a scheduled power shutdown affecting several areas in South Kashmir on December 14, 2025.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the 132 kV Mirbazar–Mattan transmission line will undergo maintenance, necessitating a temporary suspension of electricity supply. As a result, residents and businesses in Pahalgam, Achabal, Mattan, Gopalpora and adjoining localities will experience power outages from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

The power utility urged consumers to take necessary precautions during the outage period and advised industries, hospitals and essential services to make alternative arrangements to minimise inconvenience.

KPDCL has been carrying out regular maintenance and upgradation of transmission and distribution infrastructure to ensure reliable electricity supply across the region. Officials stated that such scheduled interruptions are essential to prevent unplanned outages and to maintain grid stability.

Consumers in affected areas are advised to stay updated through official KPDCL channels and local media for any changes or extensions in the schedule
