SRINAGAR: Police in central Kashmir’s Budgam district have booked the management of a homestay in Humhama area for allegedly accommodating a foreign national without the mandatory reporting, officials said on Thursday.

During routine inspections conducted by a police team from Police Post Humhama, it was discovered that Rose Cottage Homestay/Guest House, located at Friends Enclave, had concealed the stay of a foreign national by failing to submit Form C, which is compulsory for documenting the presence of foreign visitors.

Police said that further checks on the IVFRT Form-C portal revealed that the establishment was not registered with the Tourism Department, a mandatory requirement for hosting foreign guests.

Following these violations, FIR No. 337/2025 under Sections 8 and 23(b) of the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025 was registered at Police Station Budgam, and investigations have been initiated.

Budgam Police urged all hotel, guest house, homestay operators, and individuals hosting foreign nationals to strictly comply with legal procedures and ensure timely submission of Form C on the designated portal to avoid legal action. (KDC)
