SRINAGAR: The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of Jammu and Kashmir has arrested a key interstate narcotics supplier from Agripada in Mumbai after a series of coordinated raids across the city, officials said on Wednesday.
The accused, identified as Sartaj Ahmed Mansoori, resident of Kannamwar Nagar, Vikroli East, was wanted by Police Station ANTF Jammu in FIR No. 15/2022 under multiple sections of the NDPS Act. According to officials, Mansoori was the principal receiver of a commercial quantity of narcotic drugs seized in the case.
A team of ANTF carried out multiple searches in different parts of Mumbai before arresting him near Kala Pani Junction on Byculla Road, Agripada. Investigators said he was part of a wider supply network in which drug consignments were reportedly concealed in trucks travelling from Kashmir to Mumbai.
Officials stated that Mansoori would transfer money into the accounts of drug dealers in Kashmir, who would then dispatch narcotics through transport vehicles. He allegedly collected the consignments in Mumbai and supplied them to local youth for substantial profit.
The ANTF described the arrest as a significant breakthrough in its ongoing crackdown on interstate drug trafficking networks and said it brings major relief to law enforcement agencies and communities in Jammu.
Appealing to the public for cooperation, ANTF urged citizens—particularly the youth—to stay away from drug abuse and report information on distributors or peddlers. The agency reiterated that the identity of informers would be kept strictly confidential.
