Three Missing Boys Found Safe after 36 Hours Search | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: Three teenagers from Sarano village in Rajouri district who went missing on Saturday morning after leaving home for school were safely recovered by police within 36 hours.

Family sources said that the boys had left home Saturday morning for Government Higher Secondary School, Dhangri, but did not reach the institution and failed to return home till late evening, causing panic among their families.

After searching nearby areas and contacting relatives with no clue found, the families approached the police and filed a missing persons report.

The missing teenagers were identified as Shadab Ahmed, son of Rashid Mehmood; Israr Ahmed, son of Talib Hussain; and Mehtab Ahmed, son of Altaf Hussain, all residents of Ward No 7, Sarano, Rajouri.

Shadab’s father, Rashid Mehmood, said the trio left home around 9 am but their school later confirmed that they had not attended classes. When they did not return by the afternoon, the families began searching and eventually contacted the police.

After nearly 36 hours of continuous efforts, the police successfully traced the boys on Sunday evening. According to the families, the teenagers had travelled to Shahdara Sharif shrine and later to Peer Gali.

While on their way back, they were identified by Surankote Police led by SHO Ajaz Wani, who immediately alerted Rajouri Police and the families.

Rashid Mehmood said he received a call from Surankote Police informing him that the boys had been found safe. The families reached Surankote Police Station, and after completing legal formalities, the children were handed over to them.

The families thanked both Rajouri Police and Surankote Police for their swift and coordinated action, which ensured the safe recovery of all three teenagers, bringing immense relief to the entire village. (KNC)
