Srinagar: The National Investigation Agency on Monday arrested another suspect in connection with the Red Fort area car blast that claimed ten lives and injured thirty-two others. The arrest was made by an NIA team currently stationed in the Valley for the probe registered as RC 21 of 2025.
The accused, identified as Jasir Bilal Wani, alias Danish, hails from Qazigund in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district. Officials said he was apprehended from Srinagar.
According to the agency, Jasir is suspected of providing technical support to the group by modifying drones and attempting to develop improvised projectiles intended for terror-related activities. Investigators believe he worked in close coordination with accused militant Umar un Nabi during the planning phase of the blast.
NIA officials said the investigation continues to expand as multiple facets of the conspiracy are being scrutinised. Teams are following leads across several states to trace all individuals linked to the bombing, while searches and technical analyses remain underway to uncover the broader network behind the attack.
