PDP’s Aga Muntazir Extends Lead After Fifth Round of Counting – Alfaaz – The Words

Budgam: PDP candidate Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi has further widened his lead in the Budgam Assembly by-election as the fifth round of counting concluded.

As per the updated figures from the counting centre, Muntazir has secured 6,821 votes, putting him 1,527 votes ahead of his closest competitor, NC candidate Aga Syed Mahmood Al Mosavi, who has so far polled 5,300 votes.

Independent candidates Jibran Dar and Nazir Ahmad Khan trail with 1,694 and 1,497 votes respectively. Other contestants, including Muntazir Mohi-ud-Din, Dr Mohd Maqbool Bhat, Mohd Sameer Bhat, and Aga Syed Mohsin Mosvi, remain significantly behind.

NOTA has recorded 194 votes at the end of the fifth round.
