Lalpora (Kupwara): A ‘Thana Diwas’ programme was organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Police at Police Station Lalpora in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday. The event was chaired by SDPO Lolab, Atif Zahoor.
The programme witnessed active participation from a large number of respectable citizens, traders, and community members who raised various issues related to civil administration, drug abuse, and civic amenities.
During the interaction, several police-related grievances were resolved on the spot, while matters concerning other departments were noted for follow-up action through the concerned authorities.
Speaking on the occasion, SDPO Lolab Atif Zahoor assured the participants that all genuine grievances would be taken up with the district administration for early redressal. He reiterated the police’s commitment to maintaining public order, extending legal assistance, and promoting community welfare.
He further stated that Thana Diwas serves as an effective platform to strengthen police-public relations, encourage open dialogue, and foster mutual trust. Such interactive programmes, he added, will continue to be held regularly to ensure better coordination between the police and the community.
Participants appreciated the proactive role of the police in addressing social concerns, particularly the ongoing efforts against drug abuse, and expressed their support for continued community outreach initiatives.
Among those present were SI Abdul Rashid, SI Vinod Thakur, SI Tushar Sharma, SI Haroon Khan, SI Akshay Sharma, Mukesh Sharma, former PRIs, members of Auqaf Committees, representatives of civil society, traders, and other community stakeholders.
