Bereau Chief of The Week Magazine Passes Away

SRINAGAR: The journalism fraternity in Jammu Kashmir is mourning the demise of Tariq Ahmad Bhat, Bureau Chief of The Week magazine, who passed away following a cardiac arrest.

Bhat, a senior journalist with nearly three decades of experience, was widely respected for his integrity, professionalism, and deep understanding of the political and social dynamics of Jammu Kashmir.

Throughout his distinguished career, he contributed to both national and regional media outlets, earning widespread admiration for his balanced reporting and insightful analysis.

Colleagues and contemporaries have described his passing as an irreparable loss to the media fraternity. Many remembered him for his humility, warmth, and unwavering commitment to ethical journalism.

Condolence messages have poured in from across the journalistic community, with several describing him as a mentor and inspiration for aspiring reporters in the Valley.

The funeral prayer (Namaz-e-Janaza) for Tariq Ahmad Bhat will be offered at 11:30 a.m at Chota Bazaar, Kani Kadal, Srinagar.
