SRINAGAR: Police in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district have arrested Nazir Ahmad Gojar, a resident of Kehnusa Bandipora, who had been absconding since 2006 in connection with a cheating case registered under FIR No. 33/2006, Section 420 of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC).
After evading arrest for 19 years, Gojar was finally traced and apprehended by the police following sustained efforts and intelligence inputs.
A police spokesperson said that the arrest underscores the department’s continued efforts to bring long-time offenders to justice. “Police remain committed to upholding the rule of law and ensuring the safety and integrity of society,” the statement read.
