Power Shutdowns Scheduled Across Kashmir in Multiple Areas

SRINAGAR: The Chief Engineer, Distribution KPDCL, has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across various parts of Jammu Kashmir to facilitate maintenance and ensure uninterrupted power supply in the long term.

A shutdown of the 33 KV Pampore-Pulwama line will affect Newa, Kakapora, and LIS Marvel Stage I–IV receiving stations. Power supply to Kakapora, Pahoo, Nehama, Kakapora Railway, Newa, Gadoora, Zadoora, Parigam, Narbal, and adjoining areas will be suspended from 10:00 AM to 03:30 PM on 30 October 30, and November 2, 6, and 10, 2025.

Similarly, the 132 KV Grid Substation Rawalpora will undergo maintenance, affecting Rawalpora, Chanapora, Peerbagh, Bones & Joint Hospital, Bagh-i-Mehtab, B.K Pora, Khanda, Wanbal, Doodganga, Rangreth, JKLAI, BEACON, FIL Industries, RASU, and Airforce receiving stations. Power supply will be disrupted from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM on October 29, 2025.

The 132/33 KV Grid Station Shopian will be shut down on November 2, affecting Keller, Pinjura, Batpura, Agalar, and adjoining areas from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM.

Maintenance work on the 122 KV D/C Pattan-Delina/Amargarh-Sheeri and 132 KV D/C Pattan-Magam transmission lines, along with the 132/33 KV Grid Substation Magam, will suspend power to Magam, Mazhama, Kongamdara, Ahmedpora, Dhobiwan, Kunzar, Aripanthan, Khag, Beerwah, Arizal, and adjoining areas on October 27, from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM.

The 132 KV D/C Amargarh-Arampora Transmission Line (Circuits I and II) shutdown will affect over 50 receiving stations, including DIC, Sangrama, Sopore, Handwara, Pohrupeth, Tikker, Galizoo, Dragmulla, DC residence, Khumriyal, and adjoining areas, from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM on November 2, 2025.

Furthermore, the 132 KV D/C Arampora-Vilgam Transmission Line, along with the 132/33 KV Grid Substations Vilgam and Arampora, will remain off on November 2, affecting Nutnussa, Chogal, Army Camp, Mill, Handwara, Pohrupeth, Tikker, Galizoo, Dragmulla, DC residence, Khumriyal, Lolab, Krusen, Lassipora Sogam, Divar, Z-Gali, Machil, Dolipora, Magam Handwara, Karihama, Trehgam, Hyhama, Kralpora, Patru, Kundiyan, Kerran, Panzgam, Tarathpora, Tangdar, Teetwal, and adjoining areas from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM.

The Power Development Department has advised residents and businesses to plan ahead and ensure the safety of electrical appliances during the scheduled outages.
