
SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across several districts between October 18 and 25 to carry out maintenance works at key grid substations and transmission lines.
According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the 132 KV Grid Substation Pampore (132 and 33 KV Switchyard) and 132 KV ICT Circuits I and II Konibal will remain shut on October 18 from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Power supply to Lethpora, Kakapora, Newa, Pinglena, Tenghar, Pulwama, Kadlabal, Pahroo, Samarbugh, Shar Shali, JK Cements, Pampore-I, Pampore-II, Government Press, Panthachowk, Lasjan, and adjoining areas will remain affected during this period.
Similarly, the 132 KV Grid Substation Rawalpora (132 and 33 KV Indoora Switchyard) will undergo a shutdown on October 25 from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, affecting Rawalpora, Chanapora, Peerbagh, Bones and Joint Hospital, Bagh-i-Mehtab, B.K. Pora, Khanda, Wanbal, Doodganga, Rangreth, JKLAI, BEACON, FIL Industries, RASU, Airforce and adjoining areas.
A power shutdown has also been scheduled for October 20 from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM on the 220 KV Amargarh–Zainakote Circuits I and II and Bemina I and II, which will disrupt electricity supply to Tengpora, GIS Batamaloo, Basant Bagh, Barbarshah, Fatehkadal, Khayam, Karan Nagar, Shalistore, Singhpora, Mirgund, Nihalpora, Shadipora, Pattan, Palhallan, Hamray, Aglar, Shahgund, Naidkhai, Markundal, Wanganpora, Kawdara, Mughal Masjid, Safakadal, Takanwari, Zoonimar, Soura, MR Gunj, S.H. Pora, Shreen Bagh and nearby localities.
On October 22, shutdown of the 33 KV Ahmadpora–Beerwah and 33 KV Ahmadpora–Magam lines will be observed from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, impacting Beerwah, Arizal, Khag, Magam, Aripanthan, Mazhama and adjoining areas, including Sail Gondipora, Arwah, Najan, Chowdara, Raiyar, Doodhpathri, Poshker and Sujan.
In addition, the 33 KV Arizal Tapline will remain shut on October 25 from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM, affecting power supply to Arizal, Zanigam, Raiyar, Doodhpathri and adjoining areas.
KPDCL advised consumers to plan accordingly and extended its regret for the temporary inconvenience, stating that the maintenance work is essential to improve power reliability and system stability across the region.
