Srinagar, Mar 17: A Majlis-e-Iftaar was organised by Mirchi 98.3 FM in Srinagar on Tuesday, bringing together around 50 young students from an orphanage for an evening of faith, learning and engagement.
The event commenced with the recitation of Quranic verses, followed by Naat-e-Shareef, setting a spiritual tone for the gathering. The programme later featured an interactive question-and-answer session, during which children were encouraged to participate and were rewarded for answering the questions correctly. The session aimed at motivating the students to speak confidently before an audience and contribute to their personality development.
All participants were felicitated with gifts in recognition of their involvement. Talking to Greater Kashmir, RJ Mehak of 98.3 Mirchi FM said that Iftaar is part of the month-long campaign “Noor-e-Ramadan” organised by the 98.3 FM, during which young children are invited to join in for Iftar.
“The whole point is to spread happiness among each other,” she said. She added that the initiative has been ongoing for the past five years.
“I keep waiting for this event so that I get a chance to spend time with these kids. These kids are very special. We engage with them through small quiz competitions or normal interactions, which becomes exciting for us as well,” she said. Mehak further said that the event provides a platform for children to showcase their abilities, including reciting Quranic verses and Naat-e-Shareef.
