Jammu, Jul 11: 10th batch of 6482 pilgrims Friday morning left Yatri Niwas – Jammu based camp at Bhagwati Nagar for holy cave shrine of Shri Amarnath in South Kashmir Himalayas in heavy security. Yatra, which formally commenced on July 3, 2025 from both Pahalgam and Baltal routes, will conclude on August 9, 2025.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off the first batch of pilgrims from Bhagwati Nagar base camp on July 2. As per officials, the fresh batch of 4838 males, 1387 females, 16 children, 171 Sadhus and 70 Sadhvis departed from Jammu base camp in a convoy of 268 vehicles, including 135 buses and 84 Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) for twin routes of Pahalgam and Baltal.
4129 pilgrims, comprising 3250 males, 750 females, 3 children, 93 Sadhus and 33 Sadhvis left for the Pahalgam axis at 4.04 am in a cavalcade of 161 vehicles, including 90 buses and 37 LMVs.
2353 Yatris, including 1588 males, 637 females, 13 children, 78 Sadhus and 37 Sadhvis opted to embark on Yatra from Baltal axis. They left in a cavalcade of 107 vehicles, including 45 buses and 47 LMVs at 3.20 am.
