5-day ‘Range-e-Kashmir’ cultural festival organised

Srinagar, Feb 3: “Range-e-Kashmir”, a five-day cultural festival held at Gurugram, from January 22 to 26 was celebrated the vibrant artistic, musical, literary, and cultural traditions of Jammu & Kashmir and witnessed enthusiastic participation from the Kashmiri community, art lovers, and the general public across the NCR.

The festival brought together an extraordinary line-up of distinguished guests, artists, scholars, and cultural icons. Among the eminent personalities who graced the event were Padma Shri Dr Sudhir Sopori and Dr Abhay Sopori, the internationally acclaimed Santoor Maestro, whose presence added immense prestige to the celebration.

The event saw presence of Priti Sapru, renowned Bollywood and Punjabi film actress; Sanjay Saraf, designer and consultant for India’s hydropower plants; Veer Munshi, National Award–winning artist; Sushma Pandey, social activist; Ashwini Sadhu, social activist; Atul Mishra, senior media personality; Ravinder Pandita, social activist; Dr. Avtar Krishan Jyotshi, renowned astrologer and publisher of Vijayeshwari Patrika; and Ramesh Razdan, respected social activist.

A major attraction of the festival was the live craft demonstration segment, featuring award Staple work (Aarri) carving artist Mir Abdul Majid and renowned papier-mâché artist Ishfar Ali from the Valley. Their demonstrations gave visitors a rare opportunity to witness the intricate craftsmanship of Kashmir’s traditional art forms. The festival also delighted visitors with authentic Kashmiri cuisine. The literary and musical segments featured renowned poets and prominent singers from the Valley.
