SRINAGAR: As many as 45 doctors and paramedical staff from Jammu and Kashmir have been selected for temporary deputation to the Consulate General of India (CGI), Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in connection with Haj-2026.

According to a communication issued by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India, a one-day mandatory Orientation-cum-Training Programme for the selected medical deputationists has been scheduled on February 16, 2026, at Vigyan Bhawan (Plenary Hall), New Delhi. The officials have been shortlisted for various posts including General Medicine, Community Medicine, ENT specialists, Dentists, Medical Officers, Nursing Officers, Pharmacists, Lab Technicians and X-Ray Technicians.

The ministry has made it clear that participation in the training programme is compulsory and forms an essential part of the deputation process. Failure to attend will result in cancellation of candidature. The officers will be treated as on tour and TA/DA will be reimbursed as per rules.

The selected candidates from Jammu and Kashmir include both doctors and paramedics drawn from different health institutions across the Union Territory. The deputation is aimed at strengthening medical support for Indian pilgrims during Haj-2026 in Saudi Arabia. (KNC)
