4 vehicles seized, drivers arrested for illegal extraction of minerals in Kulgam

Srinagar, Jun 30: In continuation of its ongoing drive against illegal mining, police in Kulgam have seized four vehicles and arrested four persons for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.

As per a press release, a police party headed by Incharge Police Post Mirbazar at a checkpoint established at Akhran seized four vehicles (2 Tippers and 2 Tractors) and arrested four drivers for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals from Nallah Vaishow.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 134/2025 under relevant sections of law have been registered in Police Station Qazigund and further investigation is going on. Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding illegal mineral-related activities in their neighbourhood, so that timely action against the culprits will be taken, said the police statement.
