SRINAGAR: The District Development Council (DDC) Baramulla on Friday approved the District Capex Budget 2025–26 worth Rs 115.31 crore for execution of 3,510 development works across the district.
The approval was given during a meeting chaired by DDC Chairperson Safina Baig at Dak Bungalow Baramulla. The plan includes Rs 9,981.53 lakh for 2,446 new works and Rs 1,550.39 lakh for 1,064 ongoing works. The projects span key sectors including rural infrastructure, health, education, agriculture, roads, and social welfare.
Chief Planning Officer Baramulla presented the sector-wise allocations and outlined previous year’s performance and upcoming targets.
Legislators and council members present at the meeting called for prioritising core public services and equitable distribution of resources. They also emphasised timely execution and transparency in implementation.
The meeting was attended by MLAs from Baramulla, Sopore, Gulmarg and Wagoora-Kreeri constituencies, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Minga Sherpa, council members, and senior district officials.
With the approval of the Capex Plan, the district administration is set to begin execution of projects in the coming weeks.
