Srinagar, Jul 25: The G R Beigh Memorial Foundation is set to organise a three-day mega medical camp in Kishtwar as part of its ongoing Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan, an awareness campaign launched three years ago.
The programme has extended its reach across both Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh besides educational institutions in Punjab where a large number of Kashmiri students are enrolled.
The move reflects the firm resolve of the foundation to curb drug abuse through education, medical support, and community participation.
The event will be flagged off from the head office of GR Beigh Memorial foundation at Bilal Colony Soura Srinagar at 10am on July 26 in the presence of Director Urban Local Bodies Kashmir Qazi Sarwar and Chief Patron of the foundation Nighat Siddiqui.
“Together, they will see off the dedicated team of doctors, paramedical staff, journalists, and Hussaini Khidmatgaar volunteers who will lead the campaign in Kishtwar,” the handout reads.
The mission will be headed by Ishtiyaq Beigh, senior trade union leader and Chairman of the G R Beigh Memorial foundation.
In a symbolic act of commitment and solidarity with victims of addiction, Beigh will undertake a barefoot march in Kishtwar, raising awareness about the alarming rise of drug abuse among the youth.
The foundation has expressed its gratitude to the district administration Kishtwar, especially Deputy Commissioner for their wholehearted support and cooperation in facilitating this medical and social intervention.
