27th batch of Shri Amarnath pilgrims leaves Jammu for shrine

Jammu, Jul 29: 27th batch of 1490 yatris embarked on pilgrimage to the holy shrine of Shri Amarnath in South Kashmir from Jammu based camp at Bhagwati Nagar on Tuesday.

As per officials, 1262 males, 186 females, 37 Sadhus and 5 Sadhvis left in a convoy of 61 vehicles, including 35 buses and 18 Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) to undertake Yatra from twin routes of Pahalgam and Baltal under heavy security.

327 pilgrims, including 263 males and 64 females departed in a cavalcade of 16 vehicles, including 8 buses and 7 LMVs at 3.25 am for the Baltal axis to reach the holy shrine.

1163 Yatris, comprising 999 males, 122 females, 37 Sadhus and 5 Sadhvis opted to embark on Yatra from the Pahalgam route. They left Bhagwati Nagar base camp at 3.57 am in a convoy of 45 vehicles, including 27 buses and 11 LMVs.
